I recently
wrote about the all new Chevy Silverado, and highlighted some of the great
innovations that GM has packed into this great truck. I mentioned how impressed
I was with everything about it. Well, as I’ve said before, it only gets better!
We don’t
always think about the safety aspects of trucks because they are big, heavy,
and visible. Unfortunately every motor vehicle has some likelihood of being
involved in an accident. So when GM’s engineers design our vehicles they place
a great deal of emphasis on the aspects surrounding safety in their formulas
for a successful design.
The culmination
of that effort paid off for the 2014 Silverado, High Country Silverado, and the
GMC Sierra and Sierra Denali. They are the first trucks to be awarded National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 5 Star Crash rating! That’s quite an
achievement considering the tests applied to the vehicle, including a frontal
crash test, a side barrier crash test, and a rollover test.
