It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas....

I remember many wondrous Christmas mornings as a child. Getting up, seeing the tree, and all of the colorfully wrapped presents underneath it; wondering which ones might be mine.  What a magical time. That changed a little when I became a teenager. I had a job and was earning my own money, and I got to go shopping for presents for my family members.

Half the fun was actually picking out that “treasure” that my siblings or parents would open come Christmas morning. But by far, the greatest enjoyment came from seeing them open that particular present I had chosen and seeing the look of pleasure on their faces. In retrospect I’m sure some of those “treasures” were treasures mostly in my mind, but they none the less expressed joy from receiving it.

To this day I still feel that way. Don’t get me wrong, (just in case Santa’s watching) I do enjoy receiving that special gift from my loved ones, but that pleasure is still surpassed by watching my loved ones and others, and seeing the looks on their faces as they unwrap those carefully chosen presents.

For too many families this is a particularly difficult time of year. For any number of reasons they are unable to provide this joy and pleasure to their children. The Marine Corp reserve and the Salvation Army sponsor excellent programs to help these families; the “Toys for Tots” (Marine Corp) and the “Angel Tree” (Salvation Army).

Edenton Motors is proud to participate in both of these efforts this year. Our employees, customers, and members of the community participate in providing gifts for those less fortunate children in our town and surrounding area. Why not join us and celebrate this season by giving some pleasure to others, and experience that same warmth that we do when we give to others.

It is our hope that you and yours have a Merry Christmas as well!!
